What Type Of Paint Do You Use?
Behr, Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore—whatever your project calls for. Knowing the right type of paint, indoor or outdoor, sheen, durability, etc., is critical to the installation/warranty. You worry about the color, and we’ll pick the best material for your project. This includes caulking.
How Long Does A Paint Project Take?
A full outdoor paint job on a typical residential home takes about a week. A full indoor paint job takes around two weeks, depending on how much furniture, etc., needs to be worked around.
How Many Coats Of Paint Do You Use?
It depends on the project. A same-color application on a well-prepped surface (power washed, caulked, etc.) will only require one layer of high-quality paint. If we’re going from dark to light and the material is more weathered, additional layers of paint may be necessary for full coverage.
How Long Until I Have To Paint Again?
It depends. Exposure, use of the space, high moisture, grease, smoking, etc. can all affect the longevity of an indoor or outdoor paint job. More durable paints last longer, but a good general rule is that you should start looking into a full exterior paint once every eight years or so for exteriors in Colorado.
On interiors, you can paint a room and leave it like that for up to 10 years with little breakdown of material, but it’s more likely that you’ll want it to be a new color by then anyway.
Can I Paint The Brick On My Home Or Business?
Yes, but bricks are naturally porous enough to drain water properly. All materials also expand and contract with exposure to heat and cold. When painting brick, the prep work and timing of the project are very important. It’s best to completely clean and prime the surface in dry conditions to avoid trapping any excess moisture when applying paint.
This makes a good paint job on brick more complex, and the warranty less desirable. However, for many of our customers, the aesthetic change is worth it, and we support that.
